Spend nine days exploring Alaska's Inside passage aboard the luxurious and intimate 12-passenger Safari Escape. Kayak and small boat explorations offer a chance to explore the wilderness up close while an unhurried schedule means more time for watching whales, bears and other wildlife. On board naturalists and expedition leaders offer daily insights and guided nature walks. Your cruise begins in Juneau and ends in Sitka (or reverse) and features the glaciers of Tracy Arm Fjord, whale watching in Frederick Sound, Misty Fjords National Monument, and the native village of Saxman. Experienced travelers appreciate the superior service, fine cuisine and intimate experience an Alaskan cruise aboard the Safari Escape offers.
In Southeast Alaska, travel through the largest national forest in the United States where grizzly bears, black bears, mountain goats, bald eagle and wolves make their home. On the way to view Alaska's massive glaciers, enter some of the world's deepest fjords. In the still of the evening, watch bears ambling along wild shorelines. And everywhere in the swirling currents below, the world's largest mammals, the great whales, forage in the bountiful waters along the sheltered shoreline. Meet Alaska and its wildlife at eye level.

Day 2: Tracy Arm This morning, enter magnificent Tracy Arm, a striking fjord that leads to the spectacular Twin Sawyer glaciers. Weave a path through a sea of small icebergs to the face of the massive glaciers. There, thunderous calvings resonate along the length of the fjord as harbor seals watch from nearby floes. If ice conditions permit, AdventureSmith will lower the inflatable to explore up close with the Expedition Leader. In the afternoon, say farewell to Tracy Arm and head for an anchorage in a quiet bay.

Day 3: Frederick Sound and Whale Watching Begin the day by lowering the kayaks and the inflatable launch to explore the area. Later, set a compass for Stephens Passage and Frederick Sound, two prime whale watching areas. Spend the day cruising among calm waters and tiny islands searching for the tell-tale blow of the humpback whale. Other marine mammals, such as Stellar's sea lions and Dall's porpoise, will be high on the list of possible sightings as well. The wildlife of Misty Fjords ranges from brown and black bears to harbor seals and deer, so have your binoculars ready!
