G.A.P Adventures
Over the years our company has changed. From a one-man show in a tiny office, to a team of close to 500 staff working around the globe; and from a few trips in Ecuador, Belize and Peru, to hundreds of adventures and seven diverse trip styles, spanning the entire globe. One thing that hasn't changed is our passion for getting behind the scenes, checking out the real world, and taking you with us. This sense for adventure, to seek out new experiences, is what drives us, and what keeps our clients coming back for more.
Our priority is to satisfy every customer, every time, through outstanding, personalized service! We are dedicated to the customer experience and are constantly evaluating how we can improve this experience.
| Sustainable Tourism
Being a responsible eco tour operator is at the heart of what G.A.P Adventures is all about. From the start, G.A.P has been committed to offering low-impact tours that benefit traveler and host alike. We work with local communities, businesses and individuals to develop sustainable tourism opportunities that help local economies while minimizing negative environmental and cultural impacts.
The Planeterra Foundation is a non-profit organization that was developed by G.A.P Adventures as a way to give back to the people and places we visit on our tours. Through fundraising efforts and donations, we support community projects, local non-profit organizations and international charities that work in the places that we operate. The projects we support focus on the areas of health, education, community development, environmental conservation and employment skills training.
| Our Travelers
Great Adventure People are a different breed of traveler. They crave the road less traveled - seeking real adventure and authentic cultural experiences. There is no typical traveler on a G.A.P Adventure. We attract adventurous and curious people of all ages and backgrounds from around the world.
Adventure travel is often undertaken as an individual, or personal journey. At G.A.P Adventures we understand the mindset of the independent traveler. This is where our adventure philosophy comes from, and why our company was born. We offer freedom and flexibility that captures the essence of independent travel, but also take away some of the hassles of traveling on your own in foreign countries.
| Our Leaders in the Field
Our tour leaders are bilingual, live in the region that they work, and act as a cultural bridge between you and the people we visit. They are there to guide you along, recommend a place to eat, share their knowledge and help out in any way possible. At places of special interest we are joined by expert local guides, who share their knowledge and understanding of the historical, cultural, and natural significance of the area.
